About Us: Church Leadership
Session
The Session is the governing body of the church. It is made up of 18 elders and pastoral leadership. Elders are elected for three-year terms, and provide the leadership for the many committees of Session that coordinate the life and functions of the church.
Clerk of Session
The Clerk acts as secretary for the Session and is appointed by the congregation at its annual meeting.
Committees of Session
Celebration and Worship - Committee members provide the creative ideas and support necessary for a quality worship experience using music, visual art conducive to meaningful worship, and to organize ushers, communion servers and lay readers for each Sunday.
Church and Society - This committee coordinates the energies of North Como in implementing the good news of God's peace, compassion and justice by supporting mission outreach programs such as Minnesota Foodshare, Habitat for Humanity, Transitional Housing, Meals on Wheels, Union Gospel Mission, House of Faith Presbyterian Church Nursery School, One Great Hour of Sharing, and Bread for the World. News about outreach activity is communicated through Good News of Mission reports provided during worship services, North Como Notes, and bulletin inserts.
Membership and Growth - This committee leads North Como's minstry of proclaiming the Good News to people in the community. Activities include new member classes and welcoming visitors to our worship services.
Corporation Committee - This committee oversees the finances and building issues of the church. In addition to facilitating the preparation of the annual budget it applies memorial and endowment funds as requested. Sizable portions of our money matters relate to building and grounds, maintenance and improvements.
Education and Nurture - To lead the North Como family in Christian education ministries for children, youth, young adult, families and adults.
Personnel - This committee implements the session's personnel policies in order to support ordained officers of the church and employed church staff, and professional leadership.

Stewardship - The purpose of this committee is to exercise leadership for members of North Como in the wise use of resources, and to educate and challenge the congregation to give freely of their talents and resources so the mission of the church can be carried out.

Congregational Care - This committee cares for the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the congregation.
